David Higgins (R) (Waterville Links) edged out Michael McDermott (Pure Golf Leopardstown) in a play-off to win the PGA Irish Club Professional Tournament at Dunmurry Springs.
The duo finished the 36-hole event on one over par, two shots ahead of Neil O'Briain (Old Conna GC) and overnight leader Noel Murray (Massereene GC) who shared third.
Higgins trailed Murray by six shots at the start of play following an opening round of two over 73 but he bounced back in style carding a superb best of the day one under 70 in very windy conditions.
McDermott followed his opening round 72 with a level par round of 71 to join the Waterville man at the top of the leaderboard and set up the play-off.
The duo started up the par four first with McDermott reaching the putting surface in two shots. Higgins meanwhile carried the green with his second but produced a wonderful up and down to earn a half.
They moved onto the 422 yard par four 13th and this time Higgins found the green in two while McDermott's approach stalled in the fresh breeze and dropped into the water fronting the green allowing Higgins to two-putt for victory.
