The Gleneagles Hotel pro reeled off rounds of 69 and 66 for a nine-under aggregate and pipped Craig Lee to the title by a single shot to follow up his wins of 2019 and 2021.
It was Lee, aiming for a sixth win in the Deer Park Masters, who stamped his authority on affairs with an opening seven-under 65.
Higson was four behind at the halfway stage but mounted a telling surge on the final day to get his nose in front.
Lee’s title push suffered an early blow in the closing round when he stumbled to a double-bogey on the second and a bogey on the fourth.
The former Tartan Tour No 1 rallied with an eagle on the 12th but Higson was on a charge.
He picked up six birdies in seven holes from the eighth to up the ante and Lee’s costly bogey on the 16th would prove crucial in the final analysis as he signed for a 71.
Paul O’Hara and Ross Munro shared third on seven-under while Gavin Hay was fifth on five-under.
