Hogans claims another international title in France

PGA Professional Rob Hogan put his speedy golf talents to good use once again after winning the French Speedgolf Open.

A huge international field of speedgolfers descended on Golf International De Roissy in Paris last month as the sports continues to gain huge traction in the public imagination.

Hogan began competing in speedgolf tournaments in America as far back as 2012. At that point he was the only European competing along with Austrian, Arno Linsberger. In France, the Irishman was overjoyed to top a leaderboard that featured six players from six different countries which included proven winners, world record holders and world champions.

Hogan, who is a coach at Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort, Tipperary, was joined in France by fellow PGA Professional Luke Willett who finished fourth.

Reflecting on his win, Hogan said: “It feels unbelievable to win this groundbreaking event. It was extremely tough to win especially with Mikko (Mikko Rantanen – runnder-up) close on my heels after round one and a gang of players including fellow PGA Professional ready to pounce.

“Tournament wise, I have the US Championship in Missouri in October and the World Championship in Florida in November.”
