It's not unusual for PGA in Ireland Pro-Ams to end in a tie but Friday's event at Athenry Golf Club saw six professionals finish on the same score of level par 70.

Michael McGeady (Seamus Duffy Golf), Sean Whelan (Ballinrobe GC), James Quinlivan (Mullingar GC), Simon Thornton, Ciaran Molloy (Blackwood Golf Centre) and Andy Hogan (Edmondstown) topped the leaderboard at the Galway venue.

Neil O'Briain (Old Conna), who is competing at the BMW PGA Championship this week, finished tied for second on one-over-par.

The team event also finished level with Dara Ford and amateur partners edging out Andy Hogan and his team by virtue of a better back nine after they both compiled rounds of 89 points.

Tournaments on the PGA in Ireland schedule this week include the Black Bush Ladies Assistants Pro-Am on the 23rd and the William Flynn Memorial Pro-Am at Shannon GC on the 26th.
