Mark Hooper (The Rayleigh Club) returned to winning ways with a two-stroke success at the Manor of Groves Pro-Am.

Hooper has been one of the top players in the PGA in England (East) in recent seasons but the early months of 2015 have seen him struggling for his best form.

That all changed with his latest competitive round as the Essex man shot a three-under-par 68, despite opening up with a bogey at his first hole.

Starting at the fifth, he swiftly recovered from dropping that early shot with a birdie two at the short seventh.
He picked up four more strokes against the card, bogeying just one more hole on his way to registering a first win of the year on the East region schedule.

David Salisbury (Three Rivers) and Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range) both fired one-under-par 70s to share second.

The team event also Hooper smiling with his quartet a stroke clear after totting up for a 128 total.
