Hutcheon – health more important than golf

21/04/2020

Like many PGA tournament players, Greg Hutcheon is in lockdown and has been furloughed from his job as the coronavirus continues to impact our daily lives.

At this time of year the former European Tour player would be dusting down his clubs preparing for another season on the Tartan Tour. But while Hutcheon is frustrated with the current situation, he is enjoying spending more time with his family.

The Tartan Tour was due to begin on April 6 but all tournaments have been suspended.

“We’re all missing the chance to play golf,” said
Hutcheon, who is a seven-time winner on the Tartan Tour. “But health is the priority and there will be plenty of opportunities later.

“The time at home has given me the chance to keep fit with our daily exercise by cycling with the boys and my wife Gillian.

“We’re going into the unknown now
. The world is going to be a different place.Work, shopping, golf, travel, who knows the future?

Hutcheon finished inside the top ten on the Tartan Tour in 2019 and remains competitive as ever at the age of 47.

He added: “I’m still playing to a standard that I would think would see me make the cut in one in every four European Tour events.”
