Huxley to support R&A Swingzone

PGA Official Supplier Huxley Golf is providing a large all-weather putting green to enable PGA pros to coach the short game at this year’s Open Championship at Muirfield.                                                          

It is the third consecutive year that the green, which has been specially commissioned by The R&A for use in their Swingzone facility, will be available for spectators to use.

The premier quality green has been designed to ensure a true and consistent surface for a variety of putts, making it ideal for coaching purposes.

Paul Huxley, director of Huxley Golf, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting The R&A again this year and adding to the world-class practice facilities at the R&A Swingzone.

“Last year, we received many compliments about the Huxley putting green from The PGA Professionals who were teaching there, and so we are very much looking forward to supporting The R&A and The PGA Professionals again at Muirfield.”

In total 25 PGA Professionals will attend the event to offer coaching across the R&A Swingzone facility.

Heather Gaunt, coach education and development manager for The PGA in Scotland, is confident they will mirror the success of the last two years.

She said: “Our coaches, including a good number of female coaches, are motivated and qualified to provide a fantastic coaching experience for those who would like to take advantage of a free coaching session.

“The Huxley all-weather putting green was an invaluable asset to the PGA Professionals coaching at The R&A Swingzone at last year’s Open, and it’s sure to be equally popular this year.”

“At last year’s Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Anne’s, the large Huxley Golf all-weather putting green in The R&A Swingzone was highly regarded by both PGA Professionals and visitors, and so we asked Huxley Golf to provide this excellent facility once again at this year’s Open.”
