Ian Singleton certainly did the rounds before setting up his own company.
The Blackburn-born professional, who this week takes up his duties as captain of the PGA in Lancashire, was an assistant at Clitheroe then Mytton Fold before landing his first full-fledged job at Manchester club Flixton.
But after two years he was one the move again when he was offered a coaching position in California.
"I only stayed six months," said Singleton, 32, who returned to his Clitheroe home to launch a sporting goods and apparel business IDS - a title derived from his initials.
"I've been running it for seven years and I represent four companies so I must have settled down!" he added.
One of his career highlight was reaching the 2011 Open Championship final qualifier and he enjoys playing at regional level and in the East Lancs Alliance. And as captain, he expects to compete in most of the county fixtures.
