Has your job/role ever been called into question by your Manager/Owner or Committee? Have you ever been asked what do you get up to all day? Do you want to feel more appreciated or be better remunerated at your facility - or, perhaps, both? Yes? You need to Promote Your Value better! And there is a FREE resource to help you.
Ask yourself the following questions:
Do you know all of the answers? Are they clear? Do they favour you positively?
Now, perhaps more than ever, you as a PGA Professional need to be sure that you are not only making a good living for yourself, but you are seen to contribute to the success of the facility where you work. With many facilities suffering financially – or concerned with their financial position – you need to ensure that you are able to demonstrate the value of any ‘investment’ made in you (and your professional team).
Having a clear idea of how you and your team contribute to the successful running of the facility will make it easier to demonstrate the value (ideally measureable) that your services bring. As a result, this should make your position more secure, as you will be seen as an asset to the facility, rather than a service cost.
In recognition of this, the PGA has developed this ‘Promoting your Value as a PGA Professional’ e-learning resource to aid you in doing so – it will help you measure your impact and, it’s FREE, and available to access whenever you have time available.
Equally, perhaps your job/role is not in question and you’re looking to increase your package (a higher retainer, more days off, better resources), again, this resource will help you. It will allow you to quantify the impact you have and evidence why you should be better remunerated.
