Paul McKechnie again leads the field at the halfway stage of the 36-hole Musselburgh Challenge, the tour's last Order of Merit event of the season.
The 38-year-old Braid Hills Golf Range pro, winner of his last four events on the Tartan Tour, shot a six-under-par 65 but leads by only one from James McGhee (Bishopbriggs Golf Range) and Sam Binning (Mearns Castle Golf Academy).
McKechnie had a seven-birdie round with halves of 32 (four-under-par) and 33 (two-under), chalking up gains at the first, fifth, sixth, seventh, 14th, 15th and 16th. He had one bogey - at the 13th.
McGhee came home in 31, thanks to an eagle three at the long 12th.
Binning had halves of 33.
Paul O'Hara (Clydeway Golf), winner of the Sandy Pipey Young Masters at Royal Dornoch for the third year in a row, is sharing fourth place with Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and Kenny Hutton (Downfield).
Chris Kelly has already won the Order of Merit, being too far ahead in the points table to be caught, but there are rewards for finishing high up the order, so plenty to play for over Wednesday's final 18 holes.
