The Addington’s James Marshall is dreaming of the perfect return to Turkey when he tees up in the Golfplan Insurance PGA Pro-Captain Challenge final.

Marshall, left, will head to the Mediterranean Coast alongside his club captain Ravi Patel for the £25,000 showpiece, which takes place over the PGA Sultan Course at Antalya Golf Club on November 25-26.

He played in this event at the same venue five years ago while he was at former club Westerham.

And he is hoping that experience will stand him and Patel in good stead as they tee up against a strong field including the likes of defending champion Jason Levermore (Channels), playing in Turkey alongside his captain Graeme Harvey.

“We were delighted to qualify, especially with the qualifier being at The Addington,” he explained.

“I was there in 2010 and I remember a fantastic course. It’s hosted the Turkish Open and usually the weather is pretty good to.

The tournament marks the end of a hectic few months for Marshall, who works full-time as a teaching professional at the Surrey golf club.

“I’ve actually just finished moving house,” he said. “I’m really glad to have got that done and out of the way before we fly out to Turkey.

“We’ve been trying to catch up with our practice a bit since then, and me and Ravi have been playing in a few pro-captain events together which will hopefully help us when we get out there.

“It’s going to be great to take him out to Turkey and, while we first and foremost want to enjoy the experience, we will be looking to win.

“He’s a great player, really calm and he always seems to rise to challenges. I’ve every confidence he’ll do very well out in Turkey.

“It would be a great achievement for the club if we could get the win and, while it would be good for me, it would be even better for the captain.”
