A birdie at the final hole clinched first prize for James Jankowski (pictured) of Essendon Golf and Country Club at the Stanmore Golf Club Pro-Am.
He was in the final group and produced three birdies in his final five holes to return a score of four-under-par 65. He overhauled clubhouse leader Nick Pateman (Pinner Hill) who was runner-up with 66.
Third place on a chilly day went to Darren Bragg of North London Academy with 67. The only other player to break par was Phil Abbott of John O’Gaunt with one-under.
Daniel Coughlan (Wyke Green), David Bunker (Stanmore) and Stuart Brown (Orton Meadows) all finished on level par.
The two eagles on the day came from Samuel Chapple (Ashford Manor) and Darren Close (South Beds). They were both at the 493-yard par-five 18th hole. The rain held off until play had been completed.
Coughlan won the team prize with amateurs Pat Carr, Sadat Khan and Tony O’Brien with a score of 15-under-par 123. Pateman, Sunil Patel, Mark Lambert and Andrew Richards were runners-up with 125. Bunker, Shazad Khan, Pal Hodsman and Bhav Devlia were third with 126.
