James Jankowski (IGC London) claimed his second PGA in England) East victory of the year when successful in the Stanmore Pro-Am.
Jankowski, who won at Manor of Groves in June, fired a one-under-par 68 on his latest assignment to beat a group of five players by a single shot.
The Hertfordshire-based golfer started at the 11th – and was immediately in the red, thanks to an opening birdie.
He did drop a stroke at his fourth but a cluster of birdies saw him reach four-under with six to play.
Jankowski, though, found his closing stretch tough and a bogey at the last must have had him concerned for his chances.
Ben Kerr (Bourn Golf & Leisure) was his chief rival in the latter stages, having reached three-under. But he also gave back shots to the card and had to settle for a level-par total of 69.
Glen Portelli (Verulam), Darren Bragg (Golfbreaks.com), Tom Phillips (Hadley Wood) and Marc Dodd (Burstead) also finished alongside Kerr in a tie for second place.
David Salisbury’s quartet were emphatic winners on 118 – nine clear in the team event.
