Jankowski wins at Pavenham Park

James Jankowski shot a level-par 72 on a wet and windy day to secure success in the Pavenham Park Pro-Am.

He overcame a poor start to triumph by a stroke from James Taverner (Hendon) with Stuart Brown (Orton Meadows) and Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall) in a share of third after firing respective 74s.

Jankowski opened up with a bogey and dropped another stroke at the third hole. But he began to turn the tide at the long fifth where he made birdie.

He collected another stroke two holes later, ensuring he turned for home in level par.

A double bogey six at the 12^th threatened to undermine his challenge but Jankowski wasn’t to be deterred.

He bounced back immediately with a birdie at the 13^th and added another at the 15^th. Jankowski closed out with three straight pars to finish in top spot.
