Jessamine’s at home at Exeter

Home assistant Tom Jessamine shot three-under-par 66 to win the latest Devon PGA medal at Exeter. His round included successive birdies on the short par 4 13th and 14th holes plus two other birdies.

He finished one shot ahead of Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) while Harry Mayers (Torbay Golf Centre) was third on 69. The weather was warm although the greens had recently been hollow-tined which made putting difficult.

The final winter event at Tiverton Golf Club will resolve a number of issues. In addition to the team to play Gloucester and Somerset, the Order of Merit title and the top 16 qualifiers for the Matchplay Championships will be decided.

At the moment it seems as if a Hendriksen wlll take the OOM title as Dan from Torquay holds a slender lead over his brother Paul.
