Jones leads Race to Remedy

Paul Jones gained his third win of the Dorset and Wiltshire PGA Race to Remedy Series with a round of four-under-par 68 at Kingsdown Golf Club.

The Canford Magna player, out in the second group on a misty day, set an early benchmark when he reached the turn in one-under then returned home with three birdies and six pars to take the honours.

He extended his lead in the Race to Remedy to 40 points over Michael Watson (Wessex Golf Centre) who only managed to shoot 76.

Trainee Ross McCance (Chippenham Golf Centre) also returned in three-under-par after playing the opening nine in par to finish one shot behind for his best finish.

Andy Beal (Salisbury) made a welcome return to the winter series in his first event since surgery to card 70 to finish third, one better than Paul McLean (Bowood).
