Andrew Jones made the most of home advantage and a little extra course knowledge to edge his way to a win at the Ladbrook Park Pro-Am.
The touring pro, now based at the club, shot a two-under-par round of 69 to prevail over five other players on a day where birdies proved increasingly hard to come by.
Sunny conditions led to lightening quick greens which read 11.5 on the stimp, a contributory factor to scores on the high side. Jones managed six birdies in his round, enough to stay in front despite four dropped shots in addition.
Five players shared the runners up purse, all recording one-under-par 70s, Paul Streeter (Lincoln Golf Centre), Frederick Jewsbury (Stratford), Simon Lilly (Wellingborough), Christopher Evans (Wishaw) and Chris Freeman (Henley) all pushing Jones close.
The event was well attended with 35 pros taking part and their fourballs, of those it was Jones again who led his guests from Oasis Air Conditioning to the team prize with a winning score of 127.
