Jonny eagles in for maiden win at East Devon

Former Okehampton club champion Jonny Rattenbury won his first event as a professional with a round of one-over-par 71 at East Devon in the Devon PGA winter series.
The highlight was an eagle two when he holed his second shot at the 414-yard 14th hole. He followed with a birdie three at the next to stand at one-under-par. But he then dropped two more shots.
He finished two shots clear of Nicky Maddison (Saunton) with Christian Vine (Woodbury Park) third on 32. Paul Hendriksen (Dinnaton), Harry Mayers (Torbay Golf Centre) and Jason Fullard (Torquay) shared fourth on 30.
Rattenbury signed as an assistant to club pro Ashley Moon last year and has just started his PGA Foundation degree course.
He has been a member of Okehampton since 2002 and was twice club and junior champion. His previous best finish was fourth at Tiverton.
