Just the job, Rob

Rob Watson (The Shire) won for the first time on the East region circuit thanks to a brilliant finish at the East Herts Pro-Am. 

The PGA trainee birdied his final three holes to surge to four-under-par and win by three shots. 

Watson showed great resolve to recover from a poor start that saw him two-over through four holes. 

But he fought back before the turn with three birdies and added another at the start of the inward nine. 

His challenge stuttered with a bogey four at the 15th. Once again, though, Watson dug in and promptly rattled off a stirring birdie hat-trick including at the closing par-3.

James Ruebotham (Welwyn Harden City) secured second on his own at one-under. Ladies European Tour winner Hannah Burke, James Watts (Kingsway Golf Centre), Ash Smith (East Herts) and Chase Davis (Marriott Sprowston Manor Hotel) all shared third place at level par.
