Filton’s Daryl Kelley (above) made it back-to-back victories after an impressive round of four-under-par 66 in the Gloucester and Somerset PGA medal at Tall Pines.

But, after an outright win at Shirehampton, this time he shared top spot with Cirencester’s Ed Goodwin.

Ultimately a three-putt bogey at the last cost Kelley outright victory. The pair finished three strokes ahead of Total Triumph Order of Merit leader Giuseppe Licata (Bristol Golf Centre).

Kelley started in rollercoaster fashion and the front nine included four birdies, three bogeys and only two pars.  A steady run of pars preceded a birdie, eagle, birdie run from the 15th took him to five-under-par until his lapse on the final green.

Goodwin started slowly but birdies at the seventh and eighth restored his round and his second dropped shot at the ninth left him at level par at the turn. He made two further birdies at the 11th and 12th before dropping another shot on the 13th.

He raced home with a trio of birdies from the 15th, but Kelley edged him out with his six birdies and an eagle to take the birdie sweep.

Licata’s 69 contained 14 fours and David Haines (Brean), the first of the 25 players to start on a sunny day at the course adjoining Bristol International Airport, moved back up the order of merit finishing fourth on 70. He also took the Over 40s sweep. Mike La Band (Weston-super-Mare) and David Dixon (Enmore Park) shared fifth on 72.
