Khan gets into gear for season’s first Order of Merit event

Simon Khan warmed up for the PGA East region’s first Order of Merit event of a season curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic by winning the Ingrebourne Links Par 3 Championship.

But the winner of the 2010 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth was pushed all the way by former European Tour player Rob Coles and Laurence Dodd.

Khan, who is attached to Marriott Hanbury Manor, negotiated the two circuits of the nine-hole course in four-under to finish a shot clear of his rivals and claim the £2,500 first prize.

Cole, who represents Golf Kingdom, and Culford School’s Dodd each collected £750.
