Mitchell Kierstenson recorded a one-shot success in the Telesys Ltd Pro-Am after birdieing the final hole at Nazeing Golf Club.
Kierstenson, of Penfold Park Golf Course, had slipped to four-over-par through six holes before turning his day around in spectacular fashion.
The transformation started with a birdie at the par-three eighth and went into overdrive on the inward nine.
The 56-year-old, who played all four rounds at last year’s Senior Open at Royal Birkdale, picked up four more shots on the card to shoot a one-under-par total of 71.
That birdie on the par-five 18th would ultimately mean a trio of players shared second place.
Paul Hetherington (Great Hadham Golf & Country Club), Nick Moncur (St Clere’s Hall Golf Club) and Daniel McCarthy (Playgolf London) each finished at level-par.
Hetherington led the victorious team, who tied at 13-under-par with Mark Brown's (Colchester Golf Club) but won by virtue of having the best back nine.
