Killian Cullen will be on home ground when he takes part in only his second professional event this month.
The Co Meath assistant is in the first year of his PGA training and will be aiming to reach a major national final on May 16.
Cullen tees off in the Galvin Green PGA Assistants' Championship Irish qualifier which is being held at the Trim venue.
And the 22-year-old first year assistant from Cavan hopes that local knowledge will be able to help him out on the day.
He will be hoping to reach the £32,000 PGA Assistants' Championship grand final which is being held at Coxmoor Golf Club in Nottinghamshire between August 2-4.
"It'll only be my second event as a professional, but it'll be at my home course so I'm really looking forward to it," said Cullen.
"I've been at Co Meath for about 12 months or so now. Hopefully the knowledge I have of the course will pay off.
"The course is looking very good at the moment, I'm involved in this as part of my course and the greens are in great shape.
"I'd love to qualify from my own course, get to the final and see where I can go from there."
Cullen wants his PGA qualification to give him a choice of careers within golf.
But he already has an idea of where he would like it to take him.
"In my head I think I want to go towards the coaching side of the game," he said.
"I definitely want to push that a lot because I enjoy seeing my boss Robin Machin giving lessons and I'd like to be able to help people out."
Other assistants from Ireland due to take play at Co Meath include: Zoe Allen (Lurgan Golf Club), Karl Goodwin (Castlerock Golf Club), Gary Shaw (Tullamore Golf Club), Sergio Coyle (St Anne's Golf Club) and David Barry (Douglas Golf Club).
