Brickhampton Court  teaching professional Ross Langdon (pictured above) and Weston-super-Mare assistant Dan Toogood (pictured below) produced a stunning front nine holes to win the final Gloucester and Somerset  PGA event of the year over Burnham & Berrow’s Channel Course.

They surged ahead with an eagle at the fourth and six birdies to be eight under after seven holes. Further birdies at the tenth and 12th followed by a string of pars as they signed for 60.

The annual pre-Christmas event, again supported by the local motor dealership whose backing ensured  a prize fund of more than £1,000, attracted the maximum 20 pairs who started on a calm and dry day before  heavy rain.

Early leaders James Keitch (Wells) and Alex Munro (Oake Manor) returned 64 with eight birdies before Charlie Cossins (Orchardleigh) and Somerset county amateur Johnny Grace made seven birdies in matching the score.

Six-time winner Ed Goodwin failed to add to his successes with Giuseppe Licata and they joined two other pairs on five-under par to share fourth. Youngsters Will Hobbs (Mendip Spring) and Liam Copp (Mendip) and experienced Scott Thompson (Mendip Spring) and Paul Barrington (InPlay Golf) were the others to collect the final prize money.
