Peter Latimer finished birdie, eagle, birdie to cap a 10-stroke victory for Suffolk in the east qualifier for the SkyCaddie PGA England & Wales Inter County Championship at Nazeing.

The Felixstowe Ferry assistant pro's seven-under-par 65 was the stand out round alongside scores from the Bury Golf Range duo of Kevin Earp, above left, and Lawrence Dodd, pictured right with Latimer in the centre.

It left the trio at sixteen-under-par for the 36 hole qualifier, comfortably ahead of the Middlesex trio of Nick Pateman (Pinner Hill), Michael Vandenburg (Wyke Green) and David Bunker (Stanmore).

The best four scores of six rounds counted with Latimer also contributing a 72 with Dodd's 67 and 68 rubberstamping an emphatic win.

Suffolk will go up against four other counties in the grand final which will be held at The Belfry from October 14-15 where they will compete over 36 holes for a £10,000 prize fund.

Latimer dropped a shot on the first hole of the second round but rallied with two birdies on the front nine before a rampaging closing seven holes where he picked up six shots.
