Festive cheer, great golfing insight and superb comedy are on the menu at December’s PGA Annual Lunch at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Former Open champion and Ryder Cup hero Paul Lawrie is the guest of honour where he will receive the PGA’s Recognition Award.

The Scot has a wealth of great anecdotes about his memorable Open win at Carnoustie in 1999 while he will also deliver a frank and fascinating insight into being a player and part of a European Ryder Cup team, with tales of the infamous 'Battle of Brookline' in 1999 and the 'Miracle in Medinah' in 2012.

Legendary sports broadcaster Dougie Donnelly will be master of ceremonies while star striker, ex-manager and now acclaimed after dinner speaker Dean Saunders will be teeing up the laughs with tales of Brian Clough, Big Ron and scores of other characters he came across in a long and distinguished career.

PGA lunches are also being held in Glasgow with Paul McGinley on December 16 and Manchester with Stephen Gallacher on December 4.

As always the lunch will raise money for the PGA Benevolent Fund which helps PGA Members who have fallen on difficult times.
