The Leeds Cup, professional golf's oldest trophy which returns to its spiritual home Cobble Hall after an eight-year absence on May 15-17, has secured a new sponsorship deal.
Teesside-based Ramsdens is a diversified financial services provider and retailer dealing in foreign currency exchange transfers, pawn-broking loans, precious metals buying and selling and retailing of second hand and new jewellery.
The business operates from 127 stores within the UK including three that are franchised and has a small but growing online presence. In the last financial year, the group served more than 700,000 customers across its different services.
Marketing manager Kirsteen Cudworth said: "We are very much looking forward to our involvement with the PGA and the sponsorship of the Leeds Cup tournament where we will be promoting our currency offering. It's been a good year for Ramsdens, we recently floated on the AIM Stock Market and this month will see us celebrate our 30th anniversary which coincides nicely with the Leeds Cup.
The company, whose stores are predominantly in the northern England, Wales and Scotland, also sponsors Middlesbrough FC and previously supported the Ramsden Cup in Scotland.
PGA North secretary Jonathan Paine said: "We are delighted to secure sponsorship for our 36-hole tournament on May 16-17which will be preceded by a pro-am."
