Jason Levermore is hoping to ride the crest of a wave when the British Masters gets underway tomorrow at Woburn.
The head professional at Channels in Essex has been in stunning form of late, going unbeaten in Great Britain and Ireland’s historic win in the PGA Cup in America.
He continued to impress last week in France when cruising through First Stage of Q School as he seeks a European Tour card.
Now Levermore is set to get a full flavour of Tour life when he lines up against some of the biggest names in golf over the Marquess’ Course. He starts off at 8.20am, playing alongside Hennie Otto and Gregory Havret.
Speaking from the range at Woburn, Levermore said: “I’m still on a high from the PGA Cup and I will be for a while just because of how good an experience it was.
“I will take some of that with me into this week. The last seven or eight holes in California was by far the most pressure I’ve ever been under, playing for other people as well as yourself makes it even harder.
“If I can perform under that pressure there, there’s no reason why I can’t do something similar here.
“So, I’m looking forward to the week. I had a practice round on Monday and played again on Tuesday. I know if I play well around here, I can get it round in 68 or 69. If I can do that two or three times, then I’m going to be in a good position.”
