Jason Levermore’s consistent season of high achievement continued with victory in the Manor of Groves GC Pro-Am.
The Channels PGA Professional registered his third PGA in England (East) pro-am triumph of the season with a one-shot success.
Levermore, who also won at Hendon and tied at the top at Wanstead, signed for a three-under-par 68 at the Hertfordshire venue.
Under a shotgun start, he teed off at the seventh and didn’t take long to register a first birdie, picking up a shot at the par-four eighth.
He made further inroads at his eighth hole to keep up the victory pursuit, And while there was a slip-up at the first – his 13th – Levermore conjured up a strong finish to seal the deal.
He birdied two of his closing four holes to hold off the joint runners-up, Chase Davis (Stapleford Abbotts) and Glen Kemble (Direct Golf).
Davis, in particular, closed out his round well, birdieing his final two holes. Kemble did get it to three-under on his back nine, but leaked a shot at his second last hole to drop into a share of second spot.
The team event ended as a ‘home’ win with Manor of Groves’ James Johnstone and partners triumphing by two.
