Jason Levermore, head professional at Channels Golf Club, won the Essex PGA pro-am held on the fast draining heath land course at Woodbridge in Suffolk where there was no casual water and no trolley ban.
His round of two-over-par 71 beat Mark Baker (Colchester) and Terry Moncur (Langdon Hills) by one shot.
The course is usually par 70 but the par four second hole was shortened to a 200-yard par three to protect the usual green.
Mark Hooper (The Rayleigh Club), winner of the 2013 East Region order of merit, brought home the winning team of Dominic Adams and Glen Llangenberg with 79 points.
Paul Grotier (The Essex Golf and Country Club), Mike Ashley and Richard Lister were runners-up with 76. Third place was won on count back by Paul Barham (Stock Brook), John Bantick and Mart Patterson with 71 points.
Levermore, who made the cut in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth last year, and Hooper have both qualified to play at Wentworth again this year on May 22 to 25.
