Levers lands Hendon prize

Jason Levermore (Little Channels Golf Centre) proved that captaincy is no burden with a one-shot win at the Hendon Pro-Am.

The Essex ace is the regional captain for 2019 and the blazer fits a treat, judging by his solid display in Middlesex.

Levermore fired a one-under-par round of 69 that included three birdies.

It was an effort that proved good enough for a slender victory with Jason Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City) and Mark Laskey (Brocket Hall) a stroke back.

Neil Mitchell (Ipswich Golf Centre) took sole possession of fourth, courtesy of a 71.

The team event was convincingly won by the quartet led by Matt Cousens (Grims Dyke). They recorded a tally of 124 – five clear at the summit.
