Giuseppe Licata has made an excellent start to the new Gloucester and Somerset PGA winter season by winning for the second time in four events.
He has returned to the top of the Total Triumph Order of Merit following a three-shot success at The Kendleshire, the closest course to his Chipping Sodbury home base.
First out, he shot five-under-par 66 on a perfect day for golf which attracted a field of 32, the largest of the season so far.
He made his only bogey at the par three second hole before adding six birdies and 11 pars. He picked up his strokes at the fifth, seventh, eighth,12th, 13th and 18th to claim the birdie sweep as well.
Worlebury’s Roy Baker recorded his second top three of the season to share second on 69 with Alex Munro (Bristol Golf Centre) and birthday boy Michael Hunt (Henbury).
Veteran George Ryall (Worlebury) and Robin Goodey (Chipping Sodbury) shared fifth on 70. Such was the quality of scoring level par scores of 71 from Andrew March (Brean), Ed Goodwin (Cirencester) and Kristian Crane (Cotswold Edge) were only good enough for seventh.
