Bristol Golf Centre teaching professional Giuseppe Licata may dominate the Gloucester and Somerset PGA but he has found it harder to establish himself on the wider stage.
Although he won nine times during the winter season to take the Order of Merit and championship in the dual counties series, his success at Taunton and Pickeridge was his first solo regional triumph in three years.
Until he registered a winning round of four-under-par 65, his previous successes were at Farrington Park and Cirencester in 2012.
His latest triumph was fashioned over the front nine where he picked up four shots. He returned in level-par with his fifth birdie at the 13th following his only bogey at the 12th.
But he was closely pursued one shot behind by Paul Jones (Canford Magna), Lee Thompson (Dudsbury), David Dixon (Enmore Park), visiting PGA Cup captain Jon Bevan (Rhos on Sea) and former European Tour player John Bickerton (Minehead & West Somerset).
Lee Corfield (Burnham and Berrow) led the winning team on 16-under-par 122, followed by Paul Hendriksen (Dinnaton) on 124 with Bevan’s team third on 125.
