Giuseppe Licata

Giuseppe Licata won for the third time in six outings to continue his domination of the Gloucester and Somerset PGA winter season with his latest success at Cotswold Hills.

The Chipping Sodbury teaching professional produced The only sub-par Round with a four under return of 68, four clear of his nearest challenger, former Cotswold Hills amateur Ed Goodwin, the Cirencester club Professional.

This extended his lead in the Total Triumph order of merit to 23 points Over George Ryall (Worlebury) who was absent. So was David Dixon (Enmore Park) which means Goodwin is now third.

After a 45 minute fog delay Licata dropped his only stroke on the second hole before posting five birdies, four in a blemish-free back nine of 32. Goodwin also made five to share the birdie sweep.

Nick Ellis (Naunton Downs) posted 73 for his best finish of the season, third alongside Austria-based pro Martin Dewhurst.

James Hannam (Bath) was one shot behind in fifth.
