Lilly ensures there’s no place like home

Wellingborough PGA Professional Simon Lilly put local knowledge to good use to fire a bogey-free 69 and win the second of the NPGA winter series pro-ams.

Lilly finished two strokes ahead of closest challenger Andy Thorpe (Peterborough Milton) who shot a one-under-par 71. One shot further back were Nick Soto (Northampton Golf Club) and Dan Ashcroft (Kettering).

The team event was won by Mark Jordan (Silverstone) and his team of Adam Riddle, Matthew Riddle and Tracy Bishop with a score of 129 (-15). They got the better of Andy Thorpe (Peterborough Milton) and his team on countback.

Third place went to Wellingborough's James Whittemore and his team who finished with 131.
