Lilly leads the way at Staverton Park

Simon Lilly showed his class to claim the fourth leg of the Northants PGA Winter Series at Staverton Park.

The only man to break par, Lilly hit five birdies and an eagle to card his six-under-par 65, with his only blemish being a bogey at the par-three fourth.

His nearest rivals managed a level-par 71. Shane Rose, returning to form after recent injury and Sam Jarman (Woburn) shared second place. Third place saw another tie with Jon Handyside and Dan Wood both scoring 72.

Stuart Kier and Brian Mudge both recorded respectable scores of 73 to complete the prize winners in the professional medal.
