Local knowledge pays off

Host PGA pro Richard Campbell and his partners used local knowledge to good advantage as they beat 41 other teams to scoop the spoils in the West Berkshire Pro-Am.

Campbell along with Charlie Dixon, Andy McKenzie and Jayne Brackenbury carded an impressive 13-under-par total around the testing West Berkshire course which was just enough to edge out five other teams who all finished at 12-under-par.

On a scorching hot day Paul Newman kept cool to win the individual event with a two-under  71 finishing ahead of the pack of Tom Fleming, David Stanton, Craig Ainsley, Dan Seymour and Joe Templer who all finished a stroke further behind.
