Jonathan Lomas (Caprington) scored his first Tartan Tour win of the season with an eventful round of five-under-par 64 at the Dunblane New Golf Club pro-am today.

But the best shots of the day came from two amateurs, David Lind and Ron Stewart.

David had a hole in one at the seventh hole and was rewarded with a new set of irons.

Ron had his ace at the third and his prize is a free trip to Portugal.

Lomas had an eagle three at the par-five sixth and birdies at the second, fifth, ninth, 11th, 13th, 17th and 18th in halves of 31 (four-under-par) and 33 (one-under).

He also had a double bogey six at the 10th and bogeys at the third and 16th. His prize was a cheque for £1,000.

Lomas won by only one shot from joint runners-up Greg McBain (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and David Orr (Eastwood). Both were out in 32 and home in 33, McBain with five birdies and one bogey; Orr with a four-birdie bogey-free card.

Steve Rettie (unattached) led the amateur trio of Andrew Rettie (handicap 19) Scott Aikman (12) and Jim Paice (13) to victory in the pro-am team event with a net score of 14-under-par 55.
