Lucas and Brown triumph

Ashley Lucas (Crowlands Heath) and Stuart Brown (Orton Meadows) surged to respective three-under-par rounds of 63 to finish atop of the leaderboard at the Crowlands Heath Invitational Pro-Am.

Lucas took advantage of local knowledge in notching up five birdies. Brown picked up a stroke on four holes, making just one blip in his 63.

The duo were two clear of European Senior's Tour player Steve Cipa (South Essex Golf Centre), who signed for a 65. Paul Hetherington (Great Hadham) was fourth, thanks to a level-par round.
