Lunney appointed South Leinster provincial coach

Leinster Golf has appointed Gavin Lunny (Naas Golf Club) as provincial coach to the South Leinster area.

Lunney comes to the role with a strong base having set up the Naas Golf Academy back in 2006.

He brings a proven track record having worked with players including Walker Cup star, Jack Hume and leading Irish players Conor O'Rourke and Jonathan Yates who are all members of Naas.

He is qualified to PGA ASQ Level 3 and is currently undertaking the PG/MSc at Birmingham University in sports coaching.

In his new position, Lunney will undertake the delivery of a co-ordinated programme of coaching elite panels from the Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford areas.

"I am delighted to be appointed to the Leinster Elite Coaching staff, I am really looking forward to working with the other coaches and staff in Leinster Golf,” commented Lunney.

“It was a goal of mine to become involved with the provincial coaching panel for some time and I am grateful for the opportunity to use my own experience to help Leinster Golf.”
