A new major event will make its debut on The PGA South region schedule this summer with the aim of raising funds for St. Wilfred’s Hospice in Eastbourne.
Supported by Metro Bank and Greene King, and Harwoods Group for the hole-in-one sponsorship, the Cowdray Park Golf Club Pro-Am will take place on June 23.
A total of 50 teams will compete for some fantastic prizes, with £1,000 going to the winning professional.
Cowdray Park’s Director of Golf and PGA Professional, Tim Allen, said: “It’s one of our goals to hold a pro-am with the regional PGA here to showcase Cowdray as a terrific golfing experience. The event will hopefully further elevate our profile locally.”
Golf has been played on the spectacular downland course at the evolving Cowdray Estate for well over a century, with the club celebrating its 100-year milestone back in 2004.
Its combination of sandy soil with the latest irrigation systems, means superb conditions can be maintained even in wet weather making it a true all year-round course, along with wonderful views of the unmatched South Downs.
For all PGA Professionals and assistants in Sussex, there is more good news; Cowdray Park is the new venue for The PGA in Sussex Autumn Meeting on October 17.
Entries are now open for the Cowdray Park Golf Club Pro-Am. Contact the pro shop directly on 01730 813599, email golf@cowdray.co.uk or click here to enter.
