Cameron Marr (Musselburgh) is on the trail of a first win on the Tartan Tour at the halfway stage of the £14,420 Kerr Investments 36-hole OOM pro-am at Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club.

Marr leads the field of 50 professionals with a five-under-par round of 65 which included birdies at the second, 10th, 14th, 16th, 17th and 18th in halves of 35 (one-under-par) and 30 (four-under).

His only bogey came at the short 13th.

On his tail are the Clydeway Golf pair of Paul O'Hara and Graham Fox who did not have a bogey between them in returning 66s, O'Hara with halves of 33 and Fox with 35-31.

First prize is £2,300 so a tense finish is in prospect, especially if Marr can keep his nerve.

Last year's winner, Keir McNicoll (Gullane) is tied 27th with a one-over 71

In the two-round pro-am team section, Greg Paston (Ralson), heading the Dumfries and Galloway No 4 team, and Jonathan Lomas (Caprington), piloting the RJM Financial Management trio of amateurs, are both on the 16-under-par 124 mark.
