Husband and wife Justin and Rebecca Fores are set to walk the fairways together in search of Golfbreaks.com PGA Fourball Championship glory.
The Worksop couple, who this year celebrated the birth of their first child, will represent Bondhay Golf Club in the regional qualifier at Woodsome Hall on July 31.
Should they finish among the leaders at the Huddersfield venue, they will qualify for the £33,250 BMW-supported grand final at St Mellion on August 20-22.
And despite a relative lack of competitive action so far this year, husband Justin is confident they can make it to the prestigious showpiece.
“Anywhere you go you have to be confident that you can go out and win,” he said confidently.
“We’ve both been getting a lot of practice in recently and I’ve been trying to find as much time as possible to play around the responsibilities I have at the club.
“I think we’re both quite good together when we get out on the course.
“We’ve played a few rounds together over the last few weeks – Rebecca’s been playing really well so it’s just going to be a case of going out there and trying to make a few birdies.
Golf was the spark which ultimately resulted in the couple’s marriage in 2011.
The pair struck up a relationship after Rebecca joined Bondhay as an assistant professional in 2006.
“We first met when Rebecca started working at the club” Fores explained.
“She came in as a junior member of staff, she was just turning pro and we got on really well together.
“Obviously since then things have gone really well, we got married a couple of years ago and now have a seven-month-old son together.
“We’re lucky he has great grandparents as we’re never short of a babysitter if we need a rest before playing in any events!
Other pairings playing in the Woodsome Hall regional qualifier include: Kris Andrews (Ashton on Mersey) and Anthony Millar (Ellesmere), John Eyre and Adam Durie (both Woodsome Hall), Nigel Parkinson (Loxley Driving Range) and Scott Barber (Waterton Park), Lee Rooke (Royal St Davids) and Gareth Jones (Sandiway), and Ian Rowlands and Anthony Davies (Padeswood & Buckley).
