Former PGA Cup player Craig Matheson's future playing career is in doubt due to knee problems which will require a series of operations.
The Falkirk Tryst Golf Club tour pro (above) says: "I have been a full time player over the past six years while keeping my hand in at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club, working in the shop and teaching members.
"I have played PGA Cup and narrowly missed out qualifying for the Open by one shot on two separate occasions along with Q School and regular Tartan Tour outings.
"Unfortunately I have developed knee problems over the past two seasons and recently been diagnosed with a chronic bone condition requiring multiple surgeries with no guarantees, meaning my full time playing days are over for the time being."
But Matheson is determined to stay in the golf picture - in more ways than one!
He added: "I have recently launched a new digital cinematography and imaging company called ClearVizion (Ecosse) which has received great interest and orders so far, ranging from property developers to golf clubs and emergency services.”
So Matheson has reasons to be cheerful even as his pro golf playing career is threatened.
