PGA Members recently enjoyed an exclusive professional development experience at the Titleist Performance Centre at Woburn, courtesy of Principal Partner Titleist. With a clear focus on performance-driven custom fitting, the event was hosted by the brand’s expert leadership team and master fitters, offering an immersive, hands-on insight into Titleist’s renowned fitting philosophy.
From the outset, it was clear that this was no ordinary product showcase. The session delved deep into the science and strategy behind custom fitting, exploring how tailored equipment choices can have a measurable impact on performance across the entire bag—from drivers and irons to wedges and balls. With an emphasis on precision and data-driven decision-making, PGA Members came away with practical tools to elevate the fitting services they offer.
A guided tour of the state-of-the-art Performance Centre was one of the day’s highlights. The facility replicates the elite-level experience provided to some of the world’s best golfers, with cutting-edge fitting bays, high-spec launch monitors, and a bespoke short-game area designed to analyse every facet of a player’s performance.
Throughout the event, the Titleist team explained how their fitting process—honed through years of experience working with elite players—informs the brand’s wider Pyramid of Influence approach. This philosophy ensures innovations developed at the top of the game filter down to benefit dedicated amateurs and club golfers, supporting consistent standards across all levels of play.
There was also strong emphasis on the commercial value of offering a premium fitting service. As consumer expectations evolve, delivering a tailored, professional experience has become a key differentiator for PGA Professionals. The team shared insights on how Members can integrate elements of the Performance Centre’s process into their own coaching environments.
The day also encouraged conversation and peer learning among attendees, who appreciated the open, welcoming atmosphere created by the Titleist team. “I’ve already recommended it to others,” said Chloe. “Everyone was so knowledgeable and approachable—it made me more confident in how I conduct my own fittings.”
Lee Turner, a Year 2 Trainee at Betchworth Park Golf Club, echoed the sentiment:
“I’ve already applied some of what I learned back at my club, especially the structured approach to driver fitting. You come away from a day like this with insights you just wouldn’t get elsewhere.”
