McBain leaves it late to foil Patterson

Late finisher Greg McBain (Newmachar) recorded an eagle three at the par five 13th and a birdie at the last to finish joint first with Michael Patterson (Kilmacolm) in the Bill Lamb Memorial pro-am at Portlethen Golf Club.

The pair posted five-under-par rounds of 67 to win the event by a stroke and each earn £1,294.

Five players tied for third place on 68 - Mark Hillson (Kilconquhar Castle), Paul Robinson (Largs), Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf), Scott Henderson (Kings Links) and Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisuree). They earned £629 each.
