The world leader in aircraft landing systems, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, is once again renewing its support of the Wildwood Invitational, the last event in the PGA in England (South)’s 2013 Virgin Atlantic Order of Merit schedule.
Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s support covers both the two day 36-hole pro-am event and the tournament itself. Both events will take place at one of Surrey’s top courses, the Wildwood Golf & Country Club, with the 2013 Wildwood Invitational Pro-Am taking place over the 2nd and 3rd of October, while the 36 hole individual stroke play tournament is on the 8th October 2013.
Alan Doherty, VP sales and business development of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s maintenance repair and overhaul division, said: “Our partnership with Wildwood led to our sponsorship of the 2011 Wildwood Invitational, creating an opportunity for our new company to be directly involved with an exciting professional golf event.”
“The standard of play shown by the members of The PGA in England (South) was exceptional, and I was delighted with the feedback of all our guests who really enjoyed the opportunity to play with top class golfers. As a global leader in our industry, we like to be associated with the achievement of excellence, so renewing our support once more for the 2013 Wildwood Invitational event made a lot of sense.”
Sam Smith, Secretary of The PGA in England (South) is delighted with the decision by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran Group), to continue their support: “We’ve had terrific support from Alan and his colleagues, and I’m pleased that he and his guests will continue to enjoy the unique form of corporate entertainment that professional golf can provide.
“Once more, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s and Wildwood’s sponsorship enables the last of the region’s major titles of 2013 to have a significant prize fund to compete for. With two more events to be completed, the outcome of the 2013 Order of Merit is still to be decided, so Messier’s decision not only boosts the prize fund but adds a lot more interest in the final result.”
PGA Member and Director of Golf at Wildwood Phil Harrison added, “Given the tough business climate, Wildwood really appreciates the support that Messier-Bugatti-Dowty has brought to the club and the PGA over the last three years. It’s very much down to their support that this super event is being held for the third time, and has become a regular and popular feature in our schedule.”
