Colm Moriarty glued back-to-back victories together by adding the Etihad Airways PGA Sprint title at Dundrum House to his pro-am success at Castlewarden on Sunday and the remarkable thing is that both times he carded a four-under-par 68.

Another remarkable feature of Moriarty’s card was that he had eight fours to the turn and four more fours on the back nine with only one five pencilled in.

The winner birdied the long sixth hole but slipped up at the next to suffer bogey four. Having reached the turn in regulation 35, he then made birdie three at 10 and birdie four at 11 and finished in a flurry with back-to-back birdie threes at 17 and 18 for a home run of four-under-33.

Moriarty had two strokes to spare over his chasing pack with nine players on par or better, ahead of this week’s Philip Walton PGA Pro-Am at Dundrum House.
