Colm Moriarty (Drive Golf Performance) found his putting touch to win the Seafield Golf & Country Club Pro-Am on Friday.
The Glasson man carded a three-under-par 67 in windy conditions at the Co Wexford course to hold off Damien McGrane, David Higgins (Waterville GC) and Michael McDermott (Pure Golf Leopardstown).
It was a timely return to form for Moriarty who will play in the DDF Irish Open courtesy of his high finish on the 2015 PGA in Ireland Order of Merit.
The 36 year old made a positive start at Seafield, grabbing a birdie at his opening hole, the par five 10th.
While he dropped a shot at the 13th, he drained a birdie at the par four 18th to go out in a one under 34.
He grabbed three more birdies at two, four and seven, recording a bogey at the par four eighth as he came home in two under 33.
“I've hit the ball quite well in a couple of the early events but I haven't holed many so it was good to see a few go in,” said Moriarty who admitted he was still trying to get his game tournament ready.
“It has been tough. The winter was very wet and I haven't played an awful lot but everyone is in the same boat.”
Deerpark professional, Daniel Beattie, guide his amateur partners of Andy Hickey, Liam Claire and Malachy Hayes to success in the team event.
