The Titleist PGA Play-Offs have been moved back to avoid clashing with European Tour qualifying school.
Turkey’s Antalya Golf Club (above) will again host the 54-hole shootout for BMW PGA Championship spots with the action taking place from November 29 to December 1.
An added incentive for the 24-strong field is securing one of the top three places to earn automatic qualification for the Great Britain & Ireland PGA Cup team to face the United States in CordeValle, California in 2015.
The end of season play-offs, which pit the top three players from each of the PGA’s seven regions plus the top two from the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship and the winner of the Powerade PGA Assistants’ Championship against each other, has become one of the highlights of the seasons.
As well as deciding the PGA No.1 ranked player, the play-offs give the top 10 entry to the European Tour’s flagship PGA Championship at Wentworth with the leading finishers also earning a number of other tour starts.
It will be the fourth successive year the play-offs have been staged at the highly-regarded PGA Sultan course.
Simon Higginbottom, PGA head of tournaments, said: “The PGA Play-Offs has become extremely popular and a 54-hole tournament played over one of the best courses in Europe is an ideal way to decide the No.1 ranked PGA player of the year and also decide the chance to play in some fantastic European Tour events.”
Ugur Budak, general manager of Antalya Golf Club, said: “We are really happy to have the PGA brand closely associated with our Sultan course which is repeatedly named in the top 100 courses in Continental Europe.
“We believe that the PGA brand is a big asset for our recognition in the golf market. This gives us extra motivation to keep up the fantastic condition of the course.
“Hosting the PGA events is the pinnacle. We have also hosted the Tiger Woods event and Eisenhower Trophy and twice the Turkish Amateur Open.”
